CAP News

Strategy 2 is posted.  Please have a look.  Don't forget to write a post lesson reflection in the comments section.  And remember, when you try the strategy for a second time, you don't need to write out the whole lesson, just a reflection on what you did differently the second time around and if it made a difference.  The purpose of trying the strategy again right away is to put our reflections to use so we don't forget the little nuggets we've come up with.

There is a new discussion item posted in the "4 - Discussions" folder.  The discussion items are meant to broaden our thinking about teaching and learning.  They force us to step back and look at the bigger picture of education.  This particular item is about the new assessment model presented by Saskatoon Public School Division and the media backlash it received.  Please have a look and respond to it in the comments section.

There are some How To Videos now posted under CAP Tools (number 6 in the Navigator).  If you are looking for a way to connect to your files on the school server, check it out!

For older news items, see the "News Articles"  folder in the navigator to the right.

About the CAP

The Collaborative Apprenticeship Program (CAP) is an opportunity for teachers to teach and collaborate with colleagues throughout the Horizon School Division.  Teachers have been supplied with a Technology-Enabled Classroom kit (laptop, projector, and speaker set) and with the help of the HZSD learning technologists will practice new strategies to infuse technology into their teaching.  Through improved collaboration, new teaching and learning strategies, and increased access to a wealth of information and experiences, the Collaborative Apprenticeship program will improve student achievement in "A Community of Learning and Achieving."
